# Stained Concrete Floors in Falcon Pointe, Pflugerville

We get asked about stained concrete floors in Falcon Pointe, a planned community in Pflugerville, Travis County. It sits on both sides of Kelly Lane, east of SH 130. Homeowners there and in nearby Blackhawk, Avalon, and Villages of Hidden Lake call us for stained concrete, garage coatings, and patio resurfacing. We've been doing this work out of Austin since 2001. If your garage slab hasn't been ground and moisture tested, we'd hold off on a coating until it is.

We haven't made Falcon Pointe a regular stop yet, so check coverage and timing with us before you book.

Why us

## Decorative Concrete Is All We Do

- Decorative concrete is our whole trade, not a sideline of a remodeling business
- We've worked across the region since 2001, and we hold our crew to the same standard on northeast Austin jobs
- A clear read on whether your slab suits the job before you pick a color or finish
- A clear list of what drives the cost: square footage, removal, prep, repairs, and sealer
- A page on our site that spells out what we will and won't claim

## How We Get to Falcon Pointe and Pflugerville Jobs

Falcon Pointe is in [Pflugerville](https://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/entries/pflugerville-tx), northeast of Austin. SH-130 runs along the west side of the neighborhood and gets us in from the north or south. To the north, SH-45 links SH-130 with I-35, so our crew has more than one way in. From there, Kelly Lane runs east and west through Falcon Pointe, and it's the way into Blackhawk too. The crew brings the grinders, stain, and sealer the job calls for. Dust control is planned around your room and the work. At the end of most days, our equipment goes home with us. Before we leave anything on site, we'll talk it over with you.

There's no set response time for jobs here. Your start date hangs on our calendar, your slab's size, and the number of trips the job needs. With room sizes and a few photos in hand, we'll give you an estimated date range in the proposal. That range can still move with weather, material supply, and site conditions.

How easy it is to get in affects the quote. We check trailer parking, power, and whether stairs are the only way in. Plan on the room staying empty until everything dries and cures.

## Getting a Falcon Pointe Slab Ready for Stain

Falcon Pointe broke ground in 2002, and most of its homes went up by about 2017. The single family and patio homes there sit on slabs poured right on the ground. These slabs can have the same issues we see in newer northeast Austin homes. Leftover curing compound (builders spray it on as the concrete sets) sits on a surface that wasn't meant to be seen. Machine troweling packs the top tighter than older Austin slabs, so it soaks up less. And most garage floors haven't had enough diamond grinding to hold epoxy or polyaspartic coatings.

What does that do to the color? On a tight slab that barely soaks anything up, acid stain won't take the way it does on an older, more open one. The same goes for water based stain and polished finishes. That's why we typically test a small spot before we settle on a color, and we won't quote a finish off a photo.

Back patios around Pflugerville take a lot of afternoon sun. On a sunny patio, we'd pick a lighter color, an outdoor sealer designed to resist UV, and a texture with more grip for when the sprinklers run. Still, no wet surface is fully slip proof, so keep wet spots dry. And two houses on the same street can take stain in different ways, so we look at your slab on its own.

### Why we work in Falcon Pointe

Falcon Pointe's homes went up in the 2000s and 2010s, and their slabs bring us requests for garage coatings and stain. We take jobs here case by case, and we don't claim a local office.

Questions

## Questions we get about Falcon Pointe

Do you cover Falcon Pointe for decorative concrete work?

We haven't made Falcon Pointe a regular stop yet. Tell us the address, about how many square feet, and what the slab looks like today, and we'll let you know on coverage and dates. We drive to Pflugerville, Springbrook, Heatherwilde, Wells Branch, and Dessau from Austin.

Do you have an office or crew based in Falcon Pointe?

No. We're decorative concrete specialists based in Austin, and we drive up to jobs here on the toll road and Kelly Lane. We have no office or depot up there.

How fast can you schedule a Falcon Pointe project?

It's a matter of our calendar and your job's size. A lot of prep, tile or carpet to pull up, or a sealer that needs several coats will each push your start date back. You'll see an estimated date range in the proposal, and weather, material availability, or conditions at the site can shift it.

What decorative concrete work can you do around Pflugerville?

Falcon Pointe gets the same seven services we do in Austin. That means stained concrete floors, polished concrete, epoxy and metallic epoxy, overlays and microtoppings, patio resurfacing, countertop resurfacing, and floor restoration. For each one, we check the slab, prep the surface as the job calls for, and seal. Your written proposal spells out each step for your job.

Do garage slabs in newer Pflugerville homes need different prep?

Your slab decides the prep. The neighborhood doesn't. If yours needs it, we diamond grind it so the coating has something to grip. Moisture testing comes down to the slab and the coating system. Your proposal will say. Even a garage slab poured in the last few years can hold enough moisture to lift a coating if nobody tested it first.

How much does concrete staining cost in Falcon Pointe?

The price comes down to your slab's condition, the square footage, whether old flooring has to come out, and your finish. Per square foot, staining your existing slab usually runs less than new tile or hardwood. Send photos and room sizes, and we'll give you an estimate for your job.

What are the downsides of staining concrete?

Stain won't cover up what's already in your slab. You'll see cracks, patches, and leftover glue in the finished floor. Color varies with how much stain the concrete takes, and it's a hard floor under your feet. We'll cover all of it when we look at your slab, so you know what you're getting.

Does stained concrete work well in Pflugerville homes?

For slab homes around Pflugerville, stained concrete is typically a tough, low maintenance floor with proper care. It works well in open living areas. How it turns out depends on your slab, so we typically test a small spot before we pick a color with you.

How long does it take to stain a concrete floor?

Most home jobs take three to five days. That covers the prep, the stain, and the time for the sealer to cure. Your job could run shorter or longer based on the slab's condition, the square footage, and how many coats it needs.

How do I take care of a decorative concrete floor once it's done?

Dust mop it often and damp mop it now and then with a pH neutral cleaner. That helps keep the sealer in good shape. There's no set schedule for resealing, so when the shine starts wearing thin, have us take a look.

### Still deciding?

Send a couple of photos with your room size and what's on the floor today. We'll tell you what your slab needs, and you're not committed to anything.
