# Custom Stained Concrete Floors in Travisso, Leander

Travisso is a planned community in southwest Leander off RM 1431, and we field questions about stained concrete floors in Travisso and in Crystal Falls next door. The single family homes in both sit on ground level slabs. Owners ask us about polished concrete, garage floor coatings, and patio resurfacing too. On a new slab, the first thing we look for is leftover curing compound, since that film keeps stain from soaking in. We've worked around Austin since 2001.

We don't fully cover Travisso yet, so check with us on coverage and dates before you book.

Why us

## What Travisso Homeowners Get From Our Crew

- Decorative concrete is our whole trade, not a sideline of a remodeling business
- Prep matched to each slab on the jobs we take, from central Austin out to Leander
- A clear read on whether your slab will work before you pick a color or finish
- Square footage, removal, prep, repairs, and sealer, each priced out in writing
- Posted rules on the claims we'll make and the ones we won't

## How We Get to Jobs in Travisso

Travisso is in [southwest Leander](https://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/entries/leander-tx), a few miles west of the 183A Toll Road and northwest of Austin. Our crew takes 183A to RM 1431, heads west, and turns north on Travisso Parkway. RM 1431 runs along the community's south side, toward Cedar Park to the east and Jonestown to the west.

There's no set response time for Travisso jobs. The start date turns on how booked we are, the size of your slab, and the number of trips out to Leander the job needs. Send room sizes and a few photos, and we'll check our calendar for an estimated date range. Weather, supply delays, and what we find at the house can change that range.

How we get into the house affects the quote. Our equipment usually leaves with us at the end of each day. If a piece has to stay behind, we'll clear it with you first. So we need to know if the trailer can park in the driveway, if there's power, and if stairs are the only way in. Then the room stays clear of furniture until the floor has dried and cured. We check the same things for a remodel or a brand new home.

## Getting Your Travisso Slab Ready for Stain

Most Travisso homes are newer builds on ground level slabs, and they share the quirks we see in other new Leander homes. There's often leftover curing compound on concrete nobody planned to show. Machine smoothing leaves a tight finish that soaks up less stain than an older Austin slab. And the garage floors usually haven't been diamond ground, so they often need grinding before epoxy or polyaspartic goes down.

A tight slab doesn't take acid stain the way an older, more open one does. So which stain makes sense here? On these newer slabs, water based stains go on more evenly and come in more colors. That's why we test a spot before we settle on a color. A photo alone can't tell us what finish to quote.

Back patios here take hard afternoon sun, like the rest of Leander. For those, we'd pick a lighter color, a UV stable outdoor sealer, and a texture with better grip. Dry off wet spots and lay mats at the doors people use coming in from outside. If an indoor slab needs surface repair, an overlay or microtopping can put a new surface on it before staining. We check every Travisso slab on its own. That look tells us if it needs grinding or a moisture test. The street address won't tell us that.

### Why we work here

Travisso's newer slabs suit stain, polish, and garage coatings, and that work is why we take jobs here case by case. But we don't keep a local office in Leander.

Each project shows the finished surface and what the work took. Hold them up against the look you want for your Travisso home, and ask how your slab would change the result.

Questions

## Questions we get about Travisso

Do you cover Travisso for decorative concrete work?

Travisso is on our list of possible service areas, not a confirmed one. Send the address, a rough square footage, and a few slab photos. We'll tell you if we can take the job, and when. We look at jobs across Leander, including Crystal Falls, Bryson, Palmera Ridge, and Mason Hills, the same way.

Do you have an office or crew based in Travisso?

No. We're a decorative concrete company based in Austin, and we drive to Travisso on the 183A Toll Road and RM 1431. We don't claim a local office or storage yard we don't have.

How fast can you start a decorative concrete project in Travisso?

Our calendar and the size of the job set the timing. Plenty of prep, tile or carpet removal, or extra coats of sealer means a later start. The proposal gives you an estimated date range, not a pitch about how fast we can get there. Rain, slow material deliveries, or site conditions can move it.

Which decorative concrete services are available in Travisso?

Travisso gets the same seven services we offer in Austin: stained concrete, polished concrete, epoxy and metallic epoxy, overlays and microtoppings, patio resurfacing, countertop resurfacing, and floor restoration. First we check the slab, then we set the prep to fit the job. You'll see each step and the sealer named in your written proposal.

Do garage slabs in new Travisso homes need different prep?

The slab sets the prep, not the neighborhood it's in. Some garage slabs need diamond grinding to the right texture, and some need a moisture test before a coating goes down. Even a new Leander garage slab can hold enough moisture to lift a coating if nobody tests it first.

How much does it cost to have concrete floors stained in Travisso?

Your price rests on the slab's condition, the total square footage, any old flooring we have to pull up, and the finish you choose. Send us photos and measurements, and we'll put together a price for your home.

Is it cheaper to stain concrete or lay new flooring?

Stain usually comes in lower per square foot than new tile or hardwood. The concrete is already there. The price mostly swings on prep work, repairs, and which sealer you pick. Your quote typically breaks out the costs so you can compare side by side.

What are the downsides of staining concrete?

Stain lets the whole slab show through, so cracks, patches, and glue left from old flooring become part of the look. Color varies with how much the concrete drinks up, and the floor is hard underfoot. We point out each of these when we see your slab, so you know what you're getting.

Is stained concrete a good fit for new Travisso homes?

Usually, yes. With proper care, stain on a newer ground level slab typically makes a tough, low maintenance floor for open living areas, though traffic and upkeep matter. Acid stain and water based stain both work on these slabs. How it turns out depends on your slab, so we test a small sample area before we settle on a color.

### Still deciding?

Snap a couple of photos and tell us the room size. We'll say what the slab needs, and the call is yours from there.
