Custom Stained Concrete Floors for Whisper Valley Homes
We get asked about stained concrete floors in Whisper Valley, and most homes in this planned community sit on slabs poured right on the ground. Whisper Valley is in east Austin at FM 973 and Braker Lane, east of SH 130. Its homes went up starting in 2017 with geothermal heating and cooling and rooftop solar. Owners ask us about garage floor coatings and patio resurfacing too. We've run our jobs out of Austin since 2001.
We take Whisper Valley jobs one at a time, so check with us on dates before you book.

How We Get to Whisper Valley Jobs
Whisper Valley sits at FM 973 and Braker Lane in northeastern Travis County, with Lake Walter E. Long to the south. We come out on SH 130, which runs north to I-35, or on US 290 E, which runs from downtown Austin out to Manor and Elgin. The same roads take us to Colony Park to the west and Hornsby Bend and Del Valle to the south.
Most nights we load our equipment back on the trailer and haul it out. If something needs to stay at your place, we'll ask first.
We can't name a set response time for Whisper Valley or anywhere else in northeast Austin. Timing comes down to how booked we are, the size of your slab, and how many trips out the job takes. Send room sizes and a few photos, and we'll work out an estimated date range from what's open on our calendar. Weather, material availability, or conditions at the site can shift that range.
Access matters for the quote as well. We look at where the trailer can park, whether there's power, and whether stairs are the only way in. The room needs to stay empty until the floor has dried and cured.
Getting Your Whisper Valley Slab Ready for Stain
You'll find one story and two story homes here, and their slabs have a lot in common with other new builds in northeast Austin and Manor. Many still have leftover curing compound, the film sprayed on fresh concrete, since the builder expected carpet or tile to cover it. Machine troweling leaves the surface tight, so it soaks up less stain than an older Austin slab. The garage floors usually haven't been diamond ground, so they often need grinding before epoxy or polyaspartic goes down.
So which stain works better on a slab like that? Acid stain can take unevenly on tight concrete, and water based stain gives a more predictable color. That's why we test a small area before we settle on a color. We don't quote a finish off a photo.
Back patios along FM 973 take a lot of hot afternoon sun. For those, we'd pick a lighter color, a UV stable outdoor sealer, and a texture that gives wet flip flops more grip. Mop up wet spots and set mats at any door people use from outside. Every Whisper Valley slab gets its own look from us. The slab and the system you pick tell us if it needs a moisture test.
Why we work out here
Whisper Valley homeowners ask us about garage coatings and stained floors, and that work is what brings us out east. There's no local office on this side of town, though.
Concrete projects we've finished
Our project photos show the finished concrete and what each job took. Compare each finish with what you want, then ask us what would change on your slab.
